EVERYBODY HAS A STORY TO TELL. || Apostle Abeiku Okai

Hold on! What are you saying? You have suffered? You have been mistreated? Hmm, you don't know. In fact, you don't know what somebody has also gone through. Sometimes we look at our lives and we think we have suffered more than everybody and we have been maltreated than anybody can endure. But I want to tell you that somebody also has a story to tell.

You lost your dad or mom but you still have one parent always by your side. Somebody lost both parents. Another has both parents but they could never be of help to him/her. Somebody was also ill treated by his/her own parents. You have gone through poverty but you can boast of a little education. Somebody is suffering both poverty and lack of basic education. You are living in a rented house but somebody is sleeping on the street. You don't have a job but somebody does not have even what to eat. Your salary is small but somebody has not been paid at all. You have married without a child but somebody has never even been proposed to. You did not do well in the exams but somebody couldn't write it at all.

I can go on and on to prove that your challenges are never greater than what somebody might be going through, even now. So what do you do with your challenges? Sit down, cry and complain? Of course no. You should rather praise God for what you have than worry about what you don't have. You should rather rejoice in what you have gain than shed tears over what you have lost.

All the challenges you went through were the ingredients that has gone into your strength and your faith. Maybe if your parents were rich you would have become proud and dull in thinking for yourself. Maybe if you were treated well you would not have gotten this great heart to love and think about others. Maybe if that relationship/marriage had not fallen on rocks you would not have valued the new one you now have.

What you suffered yesterday has given you the will to survive today. And your challenges today will make you a champion tomorrow. So stop complaining and crying. One day you will thank God for not answering your prayers. You will praise Him for the people who disappointed you and bless him for the opportunities you missed. Rejoice always.
