Was Adam and Eve sin a sexual sin? || Apostle Abeiku Okai

I have heard some folks asserting that the sin in the Garden of Eden was a sexual act. I do not know why and how they come to such a conclusion but from all angles, it is an outright senseless conclusion as you will immediately see from the plain texts of the scripture in this logical analysis.

First of all the command not to eat of the Tree of Good and Evil was never given to Eve. She had not yet been formed or made to indicate that the Tree was referring to her or her private part as they claim. The Bible says,

"And the LORD God took THE MAN (excluding the woman, for she was not yet in existence), and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man (not 'the man and woman' but the man only), saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2:15-17)

It was after this command that the Bible recorded;

"And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." (Vrs 18).

So then for what reason would one assume the command was about sex? Where was the woman for Adam to even conceive the idea of having sex or avoiding it?

You will notice therefore that it was Adam who passed on the commandment to Eve that that particular tree must not be eaten. It is probable that to ensure strict observation Adam might have even warned Eve not to touch the tree, even though God didn't say that. For Eve told the Serpent;

"But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, NEITHER SHALL YE TOUCH IT, lest ye die." (Genesis 3:3)

Again, you remember God had ordered them to be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth. If God was forbidding them from having sex how then was He expecting them to fulfil the command to be fruitful?

So you see that it is senseless to assume the sin in the Garden was a sexual act. The deception arises from the fact that the tree was in the Center of the Garden, thus referring to the sex organ.

Some even go to the extreme to say Eve had sex with the serpent. Honestly, this is disgusting. The New Testament, which throws better light on the Old Testament, bringing out the meanings and facts from the types and shadows in the Old Testament, never for once said the serpent slept with the woman. It revealed the serpent as 'The devil'.

 "And he laid hold on the dragon, THAT OLD SERPENT, WHICH IS THE DEVIL, AND SATAN, and bound him a thousand years." (Rev. 20:2).

Satan is a spirit. He cannot have sex or engage in sexual activities because sex is restricted to the flesh and can only happen between humans. It is just unfortunate that some preach the doctrine of spiritual marriage and spiritual affairs, which has no biblical support. They make such assertions because people do have sexual dreams and sexual manipulations. A sexual dream is not an indication of a sexual act in the realm of the spirit. It could only be demonic manipulations against your mind or even the messing up of your brain as a result of the sexual thoughts you consciously or unconsciously entertain.

One would ask about the angels who came down to marry women as recorded in Genesis 6. The only answer is that those angels, which were demons, became humans. They didn't come as angels because there is no marrying among angels. We shouldn't let Greek mythologies and our own African mythologies define the truth as revealed in Scriptures.

Jesus Christ Himself said;

"And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? For when they shall rise from the dead, THEY NEITHER MARRY, NOR ARE GIVEN IN MARRIAGE; BUT ARE AS THE ANGELS WHICH ARE IN HEAVEN." (Mark 12:24-25)

Jesus is implying that the error of ascribing marriage to the spiritual realm or assuming we will marry in the resurrection is a result of ignorance of the scriptures and the power of God. The realm of the spirit is the realm of angels, both good and bad. And there is no marrying in that realm. It is therefore out of place for anybody to claim that Eve slept with the Serpent or the Devil. Satan cannot have sex. There is no indication also that he ever turned into the flesh. The truth is that he only used the body of the serpent to deceive Eve just as He used Peter to try to obstruct the death of Christ, causing Jesus to rebuke him directly;

"But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."  (Matthew 16:23).

Sadly, there are those who even add that Cain was a product of the sexual act between Eve and the Serpent. How insulting to the dignity of Eve, the woman from whose seed God promised to crush the devil. How could God bring the Holiest Man ever to walk on earth from a woman polluted by sexual acts with the devil himself? If Eve ever had sex with the devil there was no way God would use her descendants to bring the Messiah into the world.

The Bible clearly says,

"And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. (Genesis 4:1)

This is the first record of a sexual act in the Bible. And the scripture clearly says Cain was born from it.  If this child was from a sexual act between Eve and the Serpent would she have said she has gotten a man from the LORD? Would a child of the devil be gotten from the Lord?

Proponents of such misleading doctrine if demons claim Genesis 3:15 mentions the seed of the woman and the seed of the Serpent, which means Abel is the seed of the woman while Cain is the seed of the Serpent. They are in complete error because both kids came from the same woman. And the Bible is clear that Adam gave birth to both of them (Genesis 4:1-2).

They also assert that God rejected the sacrifice of Cain because he was the child of Satan. But God didn't reject Abel's sacrifice on such a false premise. Rather, God rejected it because his sacrifice was not appropriate, it had nothing to do with who he was as a person. The International Standard Version reads:

"If you do what is appropriate, you’ll be accepted, won’t you? But if you don’t do what is appropriate, sin is crouching near your doorway, turning toward you. Now as for you, will you take dominion over it?” (Genesis 4:7).

God even showed Cain how to overcome sin but he rejected it.

I need not say further, my brethren. We need to be careful with adding presumptions to scriptures or listening to just anybody in the name of seeking truth. Let us allow only the Holy Spirit to explain the Scriptures to us, no matter who preaches to us or claims to have done some research or received revelation.
